The service has come about through a lot of lobbying and hard work on behalf of many people that work with and for the young people of Mitchelstown, They saw a huge gap in services for the teenagers in the town and decided something needed to be done. Along with this dedicated space a new youth worker, Victoria O Brien has also been appointed.
The Forrest Hall building is now nearing completion and will be ready in a few weeks. It's a fantastic new space for young people to come and drop in for a cuppa and a chat, to participate in programmes designed and tailored around their needs and also for one to one support.
In order to get the project up and running and to be able to open the doors to the young people of Mitchelstown, we need volunteers. Volunteers are the back bone of most not for profit organisations like Cloyne Diocesan Youth services and without volunteers organisations like this would cease to exist.
With that in mind I want to put a call out to anyone who has any skills to offer such as art, sports, music drama or even just a love of working with young people to please contact the newly appointed youth worker Victoria O Brien on 086 803 1227 or drop her an email email@example.com .
All volunteers will be garda vetted and receive child protection training.
The new Centre is at Forrest Hall, New Square, Brigown, Mitchelstown Co.Cork
