CDYS has a number of affiliated youth clubs scattered around Cork County serving their local communities.
Why set up a Youth Club
Youth Clubs provide a vital space for young people in their local communities.
They are established by volunteers, in response to a need identified for young people, to have a safe place to socialise with their friends in their spare time.
CDYS Ltd are an organisation that can support these communities to carry out this valuable work
Why Affiliate with CDYS?
Youth Clubs have been operating in the Diocese since the 1960's and while the service as we know it today has changed and grown, youth clubs and volunteering remain at the root of the facilities we offer.
With over the 40 years of experience supporting youth clubs, we have developed comprehensive start up guidelines that guide you from the planning process of a new youth club through to holding your first youth club night.
What happens upon affiliation to CDYS?
It opens up opportunities for your club:
To obtain annual insurance through the Youth Work Ireland.
To participate in different training days including Child Protection training, essential for the running of a safe and efficient club
To participate in events organised by CDYS.
Each club will have better information with regard to grants available and the proc-esses through which to apply for them.
Support in reference checking and Garda vetting for volunteers.
Guidance and advice in reference to club matters and general queries and concerns in relation to child protection.
